As part of a game development group, someone posed the question, "Memory is a great game for kids. How could it be updated for adults?" I turned to my wife and said, "Man, that's already a game adults should play," to which she replied, "You kidding?! I need a game called Forgetify, where we can't remember things!" We're... not young. lol
And so the concept of Forgetify was born!
In this 2-player game, each card has three different attributes: a thing, a color, and a quantity. You can choose to play with either one, two, or all three!
Each player is dealt 3 cards. You take turns selecting a one of your cards to show your opponent, after which they have to recite attributes of the cards they've been shown in the order they were shown.
Each round continues until someone makes a mistake. Both players have to be shown the same number of cards; meaning if Player A makes a mistake on their 5th card, player B would also need to be shown a 5th card. If Player B get's their sequence of five cards right, then they win that round. If not, then the round is a draw.
The goal is to recall the most card attributes in the correct order; or select a sequence of cards that makes it harder for your opponent to recall. The player that recalls the most without making a mistake wins that round, and the player who wins the most rounds out of five wins the game!
You'll get the digital files (PDF) of 36 unique cards in the Shapes category. The card layouts are provided in both Letter (8.5" x 11") and A4 (8.7" x 11.3") paper sizes, in poker card sizes (2.5" x 3.5"). You'll also get any Stretch Goals that this campaign reaches!
Also included are the gameplay instructions and step-by-step instructions for making your own origami card holders.
